Art Portfolio – Life is Art by May
A home for May Masar's artworks, gathered in two chapters: the high school art years and the studies at Minshar College.
Life is Art by May began with a simple idea: art is not something kept for special occasions, it is a way of looking at everyday life. This page is the heart of the portfolio. May Masar's artworks are organised by the period in which they were made, so visitors can follow how her ideas, techniques and confidence developed over time.
Two Chapters of Art on Life is Art by May
The collection is divided into two periods. Each one reflects a different stage of learning, with its own questions, materials and ways of working.
High School 2010–2014
The first chapter covers the high school years, from 2010 to 2014. This is where the portfolio starts: the early drawings, paintings and projects made while studying art at school. Work from this period is about discovery: trying out new materials, learning the basics of composition, colour and line, and finding out which subjects are worth returning to.
Looking back at early work is part of what makes a portfolio honest. These pieces show the starting point, the curiosity and experimentation that later work grows out of.
Minshar College 2018–2022
The second chapter comes from May's studies at Minshar for Art in Tel Aviv, between 2018 and 2022. Art school brings a different kind of challenge: developing a personal voice, building projects over a longer time, and presenting work to teachers and fellow students for critique.
The work in this section reflects that more mature stage, where technique serves an idea rather than being the goal in itself.
How to Explore the Collection
Start with the high school years and move forward, or jump straight to the college work and then look back to see where it came from. Either way, the two chapters are meant to be read together, as one continuous story of an artist growing up with her work. To see how the work meets an audience, visit the Exhibitions page, and for another way of seeing, browse the Photographs.
Some images from this collection are being re-uploaded after the site was moved. Check back soon to see more of the artworks.
