About May Masar – Life is Art by May
Artist, photographer and the creator of Life is Art by May.
May Masar is an artist from Israel and the person behind Life is Art by May. She created this website to show her artworks as an artist in the community, and to share some interesting sites along the way. The logo carries the motto “Art Since 1996”, a reminder that art has been part of her story from the start.
The Story Behind Life is Art by May
The name says it all. Life is Art by May is built on the belief that art is not separate from everyday life; it is a way of paying attention to it. A conversation, a street corner, a change in the light or a feeling that is hard to put into words can all become the starting point for a drawing, a painting or a photograph.
Education and Artistic Path
May's path in art is reflected in the way this portfolio is organised:
- High school art studies, 2010–2014: the first steps in drawing, painting and art projects.
- High school photography, 2011–2014: learning to see and frame the world through a lens.
- Minshar for Art, Tel Aviv, 2018–2022: art school studies and the development of a personal voice.
Each stage added something new: the curiosity of the early years, the sharper eye that photography trains, and the depth and discipline of art school.
Art and Photography
May works across more than one medium. The Art page brings together her drawings, paintings and projects, while the Photographs page shows how the same way of seeing works with a camera. Together they show an artist who looks for meaning in ordinary moments.
