Exhibitions – Life is Art by May
Art feels complete when someone stands in front of it. This page follows May Masar's work out of the studio and into shared spaces.
Making art is often a private process. Exhibiting it is the opposite: the moment when a drawing, painting or photograph leaves the studio and meets people who have never seen it before. The Exhibitions page of Life is Art by May is dedicated to those moments, the shows and displays where May Masar's work is shared with an audience.
Why Exhibitions Matter at Life is Art by May
An exhibition is more than hanging work on a wall. Choosing which pieces to show, deciding how they sit next to each other and thinking about how a visitor will move through the space are creative decisions in their own right. For a young artist, every exhibition is also a lesson. It shows which works start conversations, which ones people come back to, and which ideas deserve to be pushed further.
From the Classroom to the Gallery
For many artists, the first exhibitions happen while they are still studying, in school and college shows that present a year of work to family, friends and teachers. These first shows are where an artist learns to talk about the work and to see it through other people's eyes. The Art page follows that same path, from the high school years to the studies at Minshar College.
Art in the Community
The idea behind Life is Art by May is that art belongs in everyday life, not only in museums. May created this site to show her work as an artist in the community, and exhibitions in local and shared spaces are one of the best ways to bring art closer to the people who live around it. A small show in a familiar place can start a conversation that a large museum never would.
